This is an outstanding vintage set of five primitive folk art style stacking nesting boxes made by Ragon House Collections in Bolivar, Ohio. They are made of box board, a heavy duty, non-corrugated cardboard material that typically is covered in decorative paper like this set. The Boxes are beautifully hand painted and were made to look distressed and antique. Gorgeous colors! The background/base color is black on three of them and a dark orangish red on two of them. There is a Ragon House makers sticker on the bottom of each box. The largest box measures approximately 12.5″ in diameter and 7.5″ tall. Lovely diamond pattern around the outside of the lid and a still life of an apple or berry bowl with evergreen foliage and berries. The second box measures approximately 10.25″ x 6″. There is evergreen foliage with berries and nuts painted on the front. The third box measures approximately is 9″ x 5″. The same diamond pattern is around the lid as the largest box. This box has «A Time to Gather» on the front. The fourth box measures approximately 7.50″ x 4″. There is a dove in a nest with evergreen foliage with berries. The fifth and smallest box measures approximately 6.75″ wide and 3 1/8″ tall. The diamond pattern is seen again here with 3 apples/berries and evergreen foliage on the front side. They are in good vintage condition, and has been well taken care of; see photos for details and color.
